Before & After School Care: The Discovery Kids Club

Engaging and fun every day: That’s our Discovery Club in a nutshell.

School-age kids age 5-9 want to feel all grown up, yet they still crave comfort and security. So instead of just day care, our program is designed to support their increasing interest in sports, art, music and more, both before and after school.

Discovery Club also features:

  • Morning Activities
Before school we serve a satisfying breakfast and provide a fun craft or project.
  • Enrichment Electives
Electives offered on a daily basis are Group Game/ Activity, Cooking, Zumba, Science or elements of Art.
  • Transportation
Parkside transports to almost every school in Chico making it convenient for our parents.
  • Homework Club
We provide a quiet time for children to work and receive teacher help on their homework.
  • Nutritious Meals and Snacks
Parkside is passionate about serving top quality food and educating the children on the importance of healthy eating.
  • Center Activities
During center time children can select an activity of choice to play by themselves or with a small group (I.e. board games, magnet tiles, legos, doll house, car and trucks, dinosaurs, dress up, etc.).
  • Non-School Days
We provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks and field trips to local attractions (i.e. parks, Cal Skate, bowling, Science Museum, etc.)
  • Kindergarten Program
Our Kindergarten program expands on the skills and independent learning of five year olds. Hands-on activities for language arts, science, math, and social studies provide extended opportunities for discovery.

Teachers provide a balance of organized and self-selected activities, all in a positive, supportive atmosphere. Whether relaxing, doing homework or having fun with friends, children thrive as members of Discovery Club. And you’ll have peace of mind knowing your child is safe and having fun.
